Lim Kian Leong & Co. was founded in 1985 by the late Lim Kian Leong. Today, the firm has expanded into a team of highly qualified lawyers (including four partners), all of whom are supported by a professional and dedicated secretarial and paralegal team.
Our firm has 2 senior partners, Terence Chan Kah Meng and Tan Keng Teck, who has more than twenty five years experience navigating the intricacies of the Malaysian legal world. They are ably supported by Jacky Lui Kar Yee and Goh Gin Jhen our new partners, having been Associates and Senior Associates of our firm. Lim Kian Leong & Co. is thus in the prime position of being able to provide clients with exceptional service and astute solutions now and well into the future.

In a bold move, the firm has chosen to reduce the areas of law we specialise in. This is to allow us to develop and maintain only the highest standards of service and expertise in some of the most difficult, contentious and challenging areas of the law. We are now predominantly focused on Dispute Resolution, Corporate Litigation and Corporate Advisory work, complex areas of practice which often go hand in hand. Furthermore, due to the company’s intimate setting, Lim Kian Leong & Co. is in the unique position of being able to give client’s the proper attention and personalised care their case deserves.

Lim Kian Leong & Co. has been engaged in many high profile commercial and corporate litigation matters leading to the implementation of some of the most complex litigation and settlement procedures ever seen in Malaysia. We have acted in numerous high profile disputes, including having represented His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor in the first case to be referred to the Special Court, which was resolved before going to trial. Recently, we successfully resolved all disputes between Tan Sri Dato’ Tajudin Ramli and the Government of Malaysia and Malaysian Airline Systems. We have also acted for the majority shareholders in the Tan Chong Family dispute – which was successfully resolved – and for Hong Leong Bank in the takeover of EON Bank.
